Smart Casual, but Not Too Casual

Don’t Put Too Much Makeup
Ladies, we understand the need to be presentable at all times. While we do appreciate makeup as a way to keep ourselves presentable, perhaps a certain amount of makeup would be enough to make the grade. After all, you would want your interviewer’s full attention to your answers for the interview questions, and not your makeup (unless you are interviewing for the role of make up artist, even so, overdoing your makeup would probably not be a good idea).
Opt For Plain Type of Ties
You are not auditioning for the role of Ronald McDonald so you might want to keep those colourful striking ties for now, get yourself a traditional- looking tie. Boring looking? Maybe, but sometimes it is best to go traditional to keep it classy. Choose designs or patterns that don’t stand out too much as it will detract the attention of your interviewers from you. They want to get to know you, not the tie!
Wear Conservative Colours
There’s a reason why grey or matte shirts are made. This is to keep the eyes soothed and calm when it comes in contact with such colours. Bright, striking colours on the other hand tend to distract and they act to announce your presence in a strong way (though, not the kind that you would have hoped). Keep those colour mixings to a minimum. Keep it simple, keep it professional!
