If you thought organising and storing your clothes was difficult, wait till you start organising and storing your fashion accessories! But fret not, we’ve got it covered for you in this blog.
So, today, we will be taking you on a tour of our closet, covering each type of accessory and the best way to organise and store each and every one of them. Let’s go!
Keep your shoes tidy
Now, let’s not kid ourselves – both men and women tend to have the need to buy more shoes. Different designs and colours for different occasions and even similar designs in quite the same colours! With the number keeps going up, how do we keep them stored nicely instead of tumbling into them whenever you open the door to your house?
Store them neatly
You can always organize your shoes neatly in the drawers or shelves by using a narrow shoebox. Other than that, you can also use a ‘garage band’ to store the laces in and let the laces just hang out. Some popular shoe storage that you might have seen these days are those transparent boxes that can be easily stacked on top of each other. Using organisers like these, you can make more space for your new kicks!
Keep them categorized
The next ideal thing to do is to keep your shoes categorized into 3 parts which are casual wear, work, and special occasions. That way your shoes won’t be harder to find when everything flops over each other in a big space, and this will also lessen the chance of damaging your shoes.
Store Hats the Right Way
Hats are one of the popular accessories some people even consider as their most important possessions. Hence, it’s very important that you get them in the best possible condition and shape.
When storing your hat on a shelf, it’s important to flip the hat upside down and store it on its crown, not its brim. Storing your hat on its brim for a long period will put pressure on the brim causing it to change from its original shape.
Hang them up
Hats also make good decorations around the house. You can always just hang your hat on the wall using a nail, but we suggest covering the tip of the nail with foam so it does not damage your hat. Not only do you get to showcase the collection of hats that you have but you are also adding some style to your home.
Please note that if you plan on storing your hat away for a longer period, it is best to make sure that you have cleaned it properly before storing it away. Now, we don’t recommend you to wash your hats so frequently, but everything needs cleaning. We’d advise you to simply wash them with mild detergent and brushing any residue off with an old toothbrush and rinsing them with warm water and finishing it off with cold water and letting them air dry.
Store your collection of shades in a fancy way
Inexpensive and neat
This next hack is also a lifesaver. You can always use any clothes hanger and use the bottom to simply hook your sunglasses onto. You can also display your sunglasses on the wall with a nail or a coat hook.
To get extra creative you can even use any old photo frame and turn it into something artistically beautiful with the collection of shades that you have. Secure some wire and line them up in the frame and it will be a layer of shades in the frame. Simple, easy and creative!
Roll your Belts
The best way to store belts inside a drawer is to roll them. This will prevent scratching, protect the belt, and make it easier to organize them.
Drawer dividers and drawer organizers, available in wood or acrylic, are perfect for organizing belts inside a drawer.
Calling Handbags Lovers
Where to keep your handbags is a bit of a debate amongst women. Some like to keep them in drawers and chests, while others love keeping them stacked up in boxes on the floor.
One neat and tidy option is to get shelf dividers. Like magazine holders, shelf dividers also can keep handbags upright and separated. They are a good choice if you have lots of shelf space in a closet. Shelf dividers are an excellent way to allow you to see your entire handbag collection all at once, including the small bags that otherwise might get piled in a storage
Shower curtain rings
Shower curtain rings are an inexpensive and simple storage solution for handbags. Just attach the rings to a closet rod, and hang the bag straps from them. However, this hack isn’t recommended for heavy bags, as it can put too much long-term stress on the straps and wear them out.
We do not recommend you to store your handbags in any plastic wrap as mild moisture would make your expensive handbags mouldy, and you don’t want that!
So keep your fashion accessories intact and don’t lose them! You don’t want to be seen fashionably unorganized, do you? Because your accessories need some loving too.
